Heavy rain triggers flood in Arunachal Pradesh

Incessant rains in Itanagar and parts of Arunachal Pradesh have triggered flood in the region, leading to disruption of communication.

Surface communication between Naharlagun and Banderdewa has been disrupted in the second wave of flood caused by heavy rain on Sunday night.

NH 415 is presently reeling under flood waters at Nirjuli, which has affected movement of vehicles between Banderdewa and Naharlagun.

Rainfall is expected to continue in Arunachal Pradesh for the next 24 hours, as a result of cyclonic circulation over neighbouring Assam.
