Hemprabha weaves Bhagavad Gita

Hemprabha Chutia from Moran in Dibrugarh district weaves the Bhagavad Gita on cloth in Sanskrit, which is a 700 verse Hindu scripture in Sanskrit that is part of the Hindu epic Mahabharata. She has accomplished the noble endeavor on Sunday as per traditional rituals.

Hema started the process of weaving in December 4,2016.

Before this, in 2014 Hemprabha weaved six stanza of Sankardev Gunamala on a 17 inch broad and 80 feet long Guna and Muga Silk cloth, which took her nine months to complete.

In 2016, she weaved Vaishnavite scripture of 'Naam Ghosa' which was written by Madhabdev in Assamese about 1568-1596.  Earlier, Hema received 'Bakul Bon award', 'Aai Kanaklata award' and State Government's 'Hand-loom and textile award' for her excellency towards weaving.
