Hiren Gohain condemns Amit Shah’s CAB statement

Assam literary critic Hiren Gohain on Tuesday came down heavily on the Centre over the Assam National Register of Citizens (NRC) process and said it is trying to destroy the NRC process in Assam.

Shah's statement was nothing but an insult to the sentiments of the people of the region and inviting fresh agitations from the people, he said.

Addressing an election campaign rally in Howrah on Monday, Shah said that BJP would bring NRC after passing the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).
