Hooch tragedy: Families face pyre wood crisis

As the death toll in the country's worst hooch tragedy continuously increasing, the families of victims in the horrific tragedy have been facing crisis of wood to make the funeral pyre and to perform the last rites of the deceased. Some of the deceased in Titabor have been buried due to lack of wood in the area.

"We are facing scarcity woods to make funeral pyre as the number of victims are continuously increasing. It is a matter of shame that we are not being able to perform the last rites as per Hindu rituals as we don't have pyre woods," said a local in Titabor.

Notably, more than 162 people have died so far and threatening to touch 200 as more and more affected people lost their lives.
