Senior IAS officer Pallav Gopal Jha is likely to be summoned for questioning in connection with the alleged embezzlement of MPLAD (Member of Parliament Local Area Development) funds.

Sources in the Chief Minister's Vigilance Cell revealed that the officer’s name has surfaced during the investigation into the high-profile scam. A formal letter regarding his interrogation has reportedly been sent to the Chief Minister’s Office for necessary approval.

Jha, a prominent bureaucrat, had earlier served in key administrative positions in Assam. His potential questioning signals a widening probe into the misuse of public funds allegedly involving political figures and top officials.

The CM’s Vigilance Department is currently intensifying efforts to bring all accused individuals under the purview of the investigation, including government officers who may have played a role in facilitating the scam.
