I’m ready to be APCC president: Gogoi

FormerAssam Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Tarun Gogoi on Saturday saidthat he was ready to become the president of Assam Congress. "If given theresponsibilities, I am ready to become the president of Assam Pradesh CongressCommittee," said Gogoi, addressing the media in Guwahati.

"Ihave the self-confidence to defeat BJP," Gogoi affirmed.

Slammingparty leader and MP Abdul Khaleque over the defeat of Congress candidate inJania, the senior Congress leader said, "MP Khaleque wanted to take all thecredit; they have not given me any responsibilities."

Itmay be mentioned here that the Congress party has failed to score in the recentlyheld by-elections in four assembly seats in Assam.
