Karbi Anglong: Locals allege corruption under MGNREGA

In a nothing new sort of instance, local residents have accused contractor of pocketing fund allocated for construction of a community pond under the MGNREGA scheme in West Karbi Anglong.

According to reports, residents of Majiyadahi Village have brought up such allegations of corruption against a contractor named Rupesh Johori following which more than hundreds of men and women reached the Mailu Sub-Police Outpost.

It may benoted that Rupees Three lakhs had been allotted for the construction of thepond. The alleged corruption in the scheme has taken place under the RongkhangDevelopment Block.
