Khagen Kalita Will Contest As Independent Candidate

On the last day of submission of nominations for the third phase election, Congress leader and senior journalist Khagen Kalita have filed his nomination as an independent candidate in the Hajo constituency.

The Congress leader was angry over not getting a party ticket to contest in the election.

Kalita has commented that the nomination was submitted at the behest of his colleagues. "The people of Hajo will choose the right person this time" he added.
