Last Rites Of Tarun Gogoi To Be Held At Navagraha

In a latest development, Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Tuesday evening that former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's last rites will be held at Navagraha Smashan in Guwahati on November 26.

A Facebook post of Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma read:

As per wishes of family and Indian National Congress – Assam late Tarun Gogoi will be cremated in Navagraha Smashan on Thursday, November 26, 2020.Prayers

Presently, the mortal remains of the veteran Congress leader is kept at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra.

Earlier today, Mr. Gogoi's body was taken to his official residence, the state secretariat Janata Bhawan, and the Assam Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan.
