The midday meal workers association has continued their protest and on Tuesday they gheraoed the Education Minister's house in the city.
The protestors demanded to withdraw the contract given to the NGOs providing midday meals in the schools.
Earlier, following the protests across the state, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also ordered an inquiry into the allegations.
However, the protestors have not accepted the inquiry stating that it is unlawful activity and demanded that the contract given to the NGOs should be withdrawn and that the government should reimburse the job of 1lakh 17 thousand workers associated with the midday meal scheme.
The workerssaid that they will stage the protest until and unless the education ministercomes with a permanent solution and have a discussion with them.
