‘National Youth Awards’ For Cachar Boy

Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju today conferred the National Youth Awards for 2016-17 on twenty individuals and three organisations at a function in New Delhi today on the occasion of International Youth Day.

Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju today conferred the National Youth Awards for 2016-17 on twenty individuals and three organisations at a function in New Delhi today on the occasion of International Youth Day. 

Out of the awardees Krishna Mohan Singha from Cachar district in Assam won the award in Individual Category. The individual award comprises of a medal, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-. The award to a youth organisation includes a medal, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 2,00,000/-. In addition, 3 awards were also conferred to individuals for the Photo Exhibition on "China through Eyes of Indian Youth – 2019".

The awards are presented to young persons and voluntary organization every year in recognition of their outstanding work in the field of national development and social service. The awards aim towards encouraging them to develop a sense of responsibility to the community and also to improve their own potential as a good citizen. 

Besides, three awards were also given to individuals for the photo exhibition on China through Eyes of Indian Youth-2019.
