Ace Indian shuttler, PV Sindhu on Thursday entered the women's singles quarterfinals of the Senior National Badminton Championships in Guwahati. She defeated Nagpur's Malvika Bansod to reach the quarterfinals.

Sindhu in her first match in the tournament beat Malvika in 21-11, 21-13 sets. The Olympic silver medalist was last edition Senior National Badminton Championships' runner-up.

Meanwhile, former world no. 1, Saina Nehwal complained about the court in the stadium, following which her match was shifted to another court.

Notably, the top eight players of the competition on the combined basis of world and domestic rankings were given direct entry into the singles pre-quarterfinals for which a Super Draw was held last night.

This is the first time since 2010, Guwahati is hosting the prestigious tournament.
