No Higher Secondary in colleges: Education Minister

AssamEducation Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya on Wednesday said that highersecondary education will no longer be associated with colleges. Speaking at thefoundation day of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), MinisterBhattacharya said that Assam government has decided to withdraw the secondaryeducation from colleges.

"We have taken the decision to withdraw higher secondary education from colleges," said the Minister, adding, "This will be the last year of higher secondary education in colleges."

He further said that the government would have to take suggestions from the experts before implementing the new National Education Policy.
