An individual named Injamam alias Gullu, accused of sexually abusing a minor girl, was finally arrested by the Noonmati Police on Saturday night, after evading capture for four days, sources said. He was reportedly apprehended in Dhubri following an extensive search operation across multiple locations over the last four days.
According to police sources, Injamam had been working as a labourer at a multi-storey building construction site in the Pathar Quarry area of Guwahati.
As per sources, on Wednesday, he had allegedly sexually abused a minor girl and had been absconding since then. Following a complaint lodged by the family of the victim, the Noonmati Police launched a sustained manhunt to trace his whereabouts.
Finally, acting on specific intelligence, police teams from Noonmati tracked him down in Dhubri and brought him back to the police station for interrogation and further legal action.
