NRC authorities set to send notice to 19 lakh people

Over19 lakh people were excluded from the final list of the updated NationalRegister of Citizen (NRC) on Saturday. The final NRC has drawn differentreactions from various sections of society.

Meanwhile,the NRC authorities are preparing to send notice those 19 lakh people excludedfrom the final NRC through DCs and Circle Officers to prove their citizenshipat the Foreigners' Tribunals (FT).

Itmay be mentioned here that 200 FTs will be functional in the State from October1. The government has given 120 days time to those excluded from the NRC toappeal in the FT.

However, the appointments to various posts of FTs are yet to be completed.
