One identified as Karim Khan was arrested for posting an objectionable image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his social media account. The Crime Branch of Guwahat police, after lodging a case against him, arrested Khan from Goroimari area in Barpeta district on Sunday.
The officials of the Guwahati police said that after a photoshopped image of the PM went viral on social media some people made complaint. Later, Crime Branch of Guwahat police registered a suo motu case against Khan, following an order of Guwahati Police Commissioner Deepak Kumar.
Karim Khan had uploaded objectionable image of the PM on his social media account few days ago. As the photo went viral, many locals contacted the police with the complaint that their sentiments were being hurt due to such act of Khan.
