Police felicitated 6 boys for bravery

The City police have felicitate six boys of Garigaon area on Wednesday for their bravery act in rescuing a drowned lady from the Brahmaputra river. The six Garigaon boys felicitated by City police were Ritu Ali, Saidul Ali, Rekibul Ali , Farooq Ali , Ikramool Haque and Asim Ali.

The incident took place on Tuesday last when the lady allegedly made an attempt to commit suicide and jumped to the river from Saraighat bridge.

" After jumping to the river, the lady was battling for survival. Seeing the helpless lady , a group of six boys came forward and rescued her from the river", stated in  a official statement of  the City police.

Police said that the steps adopted by the six brave boys was a glaring example of humanity and they deserved recognition for their act.
