In a routine checking, Khatkhati police on Wednesday seized a huge cache of products smuggled from Myanmar along the Assam-Nagaland border from several night super buses en-route to Tinsukia in Assam from Dimapur in Nagaland.
The seized items include cosmetics, edibles and electrical items.
The buses from which the seizure was made bear the registration numbers NL-07-B-0283, AS-01-GC-4758 and AR-09-A-4784.
It may be mentioned here that after the Goods & Services Tax (GST) came into force in the country, the smuggling of products from Myanmar have increased.
Such items find an easy entry to the sate via Myanmar-Manipur-Dimapur route.
