Tense situation aroused at Kacharigaon police station in Tezpur on Friday night after thousands of public gathered demanding justice in the alleged murder of one identified as Prachurjya Saikia alias Sona. Public had earlier gheraoed the Borghat police station demanding same.
It has been reported that, Sona was missing since October 28 and his body was found near Borghat police station on October 29. Unable to identify the body, police buried him.
Meanwhile, public alleged it a murder and are demanding strict probe into the incident. Reportedly, Sona did not have parents and public claimed that family members might have killed him for his properties. They also demanded to dig out his body and to perform his last rites according to Hindu rituals.
