Religious leader attacked in Chirang

Inyet another incident of moral policing in the State, a religious leader wasbrutally attacked by an angry mob. The incident took place at Shantipur area inChirang district's Indo-Bhutan border.

Accordingto reports, the angry mob suspected the religious leader as a child-abductorand brutally thrashed him. He sustained serious injuries during the incident.

However,police and security forces immediately reached the spot and rescued thereligious leader. He has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
