Repolling underway in various centres

Repolling is underway in several polling stations of Assam, which had to be conducted due to various confusions. Voting is going on in three centres of Kamrup, four in Dhemaji, two in Gohpur, two in Dhakuakhana, two in Sivasagar and one in each Charaideo, Biswanath and Titabor.

Polling will be conducted again on December 10 at 27 centres in Lakhimpur. Various anomalies in voter lists, ballot papers had led to cancellation of polling in several centres.

Polling in the 43 centres where it had to be rescheduled, due to confusions in the first phase of the Panchayat Elections, will be held in two phases. Today, voting is underway in 15 centres whereas, in the second phase voting will be held for 27 centres in Lakhimpur on December 10.
