A gang of dacoits looted several lakhs of rupees and gold jewellery from the house of one businessman named Habibur Rahman at Katidat in Cachar last night.

As reported, the team of 20-25 robbers also attacked his family with sharp weapons, besides resorting to firing.

The firing resulted in three family members sustaining serious injuries.
