Amid speculations,former Tezpur MP Ram Prasad Sharma will formally join the Janata Dal (United)on August 24. According to sources, Sharma will join the JD(U) in Guwahati inpresence of its General Secretary KC Tyagi.
Earlier,he met senior JD(U) leaders in New Delhi to discuss the political scenario inAssam.
It maybe mentioned here that the former BJP leader was enraged with the party'sdecision of not choosing him for the Tezpur constituency seat in the Lok Sabhaelections, which led him to resign from the saffron party. In a Facebook post, Sharmawrote that he felt insulted when his name did not find a place in theshortlisted panel of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
