Union Home Minister Amit Shah is currently on a two-day Assam visit. On Monday, Shah held a meeting with state Governor Jagdish Mukhi at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati.
He also met Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal and Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. This is Amit Shah's first visit to the region after the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) list came out.

Later, Amit Shah visited Kamakhya temple atop Nilachal Hill in Guwahati andsought blessings from the presiding deity. He was accompanied by Sonowal, Sarmaand government officials.
