BJP MLA of Hojai constituency, Shiladitya Dev, on Monday had staged a unique protest at Assam legislative assembly against the decisions of Supreme Court on ongoing NRC updating process.
The autumn session of the Assam Legislative Assembly had started from today. Shiladitya came to Assam legislative assembly and he himself held a different protest by displaying a placard against the decision of apex court on the matter of NRC.
In the placard, MLA Shiladitya wrote "MY LORD DO NOT DISCRIMINATE….YOUR OWN CHILDREN"
He also alleged that NRC state coordinator Prateek Hajela was behind all this.
It may be mentioned that The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the Assam NRC coordinator Prateek Hajela to commence the process for filing of claims and objections for inclusion in the Final Draft NRC from September 25.
A Bench of Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Rohinton F Nariman said those left out of the Draft NRC can rely on 10 of the 15 documents prescribed.
