A 60-year-old businessman in Tinsukia died of a cardiac arrest after a fake message related to his son's marriage went viral in social media.

As per reports, Tinsukia-based businessman Binod Khard's son- Dhiraj Khard- was all set to get married on July 10.

However, right before his marriage, a message went viral in social media which claimed that "Dhiraj was getting married to his sister and hence everyone should avoid going to the marriage and then the family must be ousted from the society".

Unable to face the pain and take the false blame, Khard had the fatal cardiac arrest.

According to reports, around ten persons were involved in the spreading of the fake message in social media.

After the message went viral, some people visited the Khard family and was verbally abused.

Khard's family, meanwhile, has lodged a complaint against those involved with the spreading of the fake message and a case (case number 995/19) has also been registered at Tinsukia Sadar PS.
