It was speculated that CM Biplab Deb was not happy with the performance of some of his colleagues and he is going to undertake a major reshuffle and expansion of his ministry.

Meanwhile, CM Deb will take charges of PWD (DWS), Industry & Commerce (IT) and Health and Family Welfare Ministries; and Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma will take the charge of Science, Technology and Environment Ministry.
