Three Jihadis Detained In Barpeta

Ahead of the Independence Day,three jihadis have been detained in Barpeta district on Tuesday. The detaineeswere identified as Hafizur Rahman, Yakub Ali and Sariful Islam.

The Barpeta police, acting on a tip-off, detained dreaded jihadi Hafizur from Bajali area. The police also recovered a hand-made pistol and four rounds of live bullets from him. He is suspected to be a member of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).

Taking a lead from Hafizur, thepolice later arrested Yakub and Sariful from Kayakuchi area. Police sources saidthat Yakub is a close aide of JMB member Hafizur.

Meanwhile, police are currentlyinterrogating the trio.
