Tripura recorded its highest single-day spike in the novel coronavirus cases after 102 tested positive for on Monday. All those who have tested positive have a travel history, said state Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
According to the state health department, the totalnumber of positive coronavirus cases in Tripura stands at 423, out of which 173have been discharged and 247 are still under treatment.
Three coronavirus patients have migrated from thestate.
Over 150 BSF personnel and their family members hadalso tested positive for the deadly virus in the state earlier.
Biplab Kumar Deb said, "As the numbers arerising, I urge everyone to stay extra cautious and follow the governmentinstructions. During my visit today, I inspected two quarantine facilities atSilacherra RD Block. I had interactions with doctors and other healthcarestaffs. I also encouraged them to further strengthen the fight againstCovid-19."
With the rising number of cases, the government hasincreased its number of beds for infected patients.
On April 25, Biplab Kumar Deb had declared Tripura coronavirus-free but the state witnessed as sharp surge in cases after April 2.
