Insurance scams running into crores of rupees and over several years has been exposed in Barpeta district with nine arrests made in a multi-crore insurance scam case so far.
The special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested two persons from Kalgachia in Barpeta district on Thursday probing the multi-crore insurance scam.
The arrested persons are Harmuj Ali and Amjad Ali.
Reportedly, the two accused signed in a Life Cover insurance policy of Rs 10 lakh 49 thousand after the death of Mainuddin Ahmed,
The case pertains to illegally claiming insurance money against fake death certificates, with a wide racket of doctors, agents and insurance company officials suspected to be involved in it.
