In a sensational incident, unidentified body of an elderly man was recovered near Saraighat Bridge in Guwahat. The body was found lying near the bridge. Railway Police reached the spot to inspect after locals informed them about the body.
"There was no paper or documents recovered from the possession of the deceased. The deceased was wearing while shirt and blue pant. We are investigating the case," said a police official.
The official further said whether it was a case of murder would be established only after the autopsy is done. However, locals suspected that the man had committed suicide.
