On Friday, Consul General of the United States of America Patti Hoffman (Kolkata Consular District) met Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal at Janata Bhawan.
During their conversation, various issues like tourism, education, investment, Act East Policy and all other issues which are related to US and Assam had been discussed.
The state government is working to strengthen its tea industry, its tourism potentiality and bio-diversity related sectors along with foreign policy. The Government has taken various schemes for transforming the state into a Gateway to ASEAN and BBN countries. – Sonowal said
The US Consul General also informed that the US has been enthusiastically watching these sectors to strengthen its ties and partner with Assam to enhance mutual interests.
