Indiawill face Oman in the opening FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifier on Thursday inGuwahati. The match is seen as Coach Igor Stimac's biggest test so far.
"Realistically,Qatar and Oman are the favourites in our group. We have never won an official(World Cup qualifying) match against either of them. So it's not going to beeasy at all. In Guwahati we are going to give everything on the pitch, aimingto win it," Stimac, a member of the Croatian team that reached the semifinalsof the 1998 World Cup, was quoted as saying by PTI.
Meanwhile,Sunil Chhetri is set to be the lone man upfront in Stimac's 4-2-3-1formation.
Itmay be mentioned here that India had lost both their matches against Oman atthe same stage during the qualification for the 2018 World Cup.
