Saraswati puja is being celebrated across the State with great enthusiasm. Students of almost all the educational institutes in the State have been offering their prayers to the Goddess Saraswati on Sunday.
Meanwhile, on this auspicious occasion, the students of prestigious Cotton University observed the day with symbolic opposition to the much-debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. The theme of Saraswati Puja at the university was 'Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016'.
A map of Northeast was kept for display in the middle of the University premises with "WE OPPOSE CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT BILL 2016" written on it. The students of the university also expressed grief over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent comment on CAB and his stand on passing the Bill in the Rajya Sabha.
