In an unfortunate incident, a wild elephant died near NH-38 at Ramangar in Digboi last night.
As per sources, the tragic incident took place while the jumbo came out of the jungles in search of food.
Although the exact cause of death is not yet clear, the elephant is suspected to have died of a collision with a vehicle.
