Workers from Assam forced to leave Meghalaya

In a shocking incident,workers from Assam were beaten and forced to leave Meghalaya on Wednesday. Theincident came to light after a group of more than 40 workers from Assam reportedthe case at the Jorabat Police Station.

As per the workers, who are currently taking shelters at the police station, they were beaten and forced to leave the State by some miscreants. The workers also informed that they were working at a timber mill. "We are ordered to show our Aadhar Card, Voting IDs and other documents by some Khasi people and they later asked to vacate the place within no time," said a worker from Assam.

According to reports, there were more than 40 youths in the group of workers, who hails from different parts of Assam. Meanwhile, Jorabat police initiated an investigation in connection with the incident reported.
