In the ongoing investigation into the mysterious death of popular singer Zubeen Garg, seven accused, including Shyamkanu Mahanta, Siddharth Sharma, Sandeepan Garg, and two bodyguards, have been sent back to judicial custody for 14 days.

It has been two months since Assam’s beloved singer passed away. The accused have remained in judicial custody since their arrest, and their previous remand ended on Wednesday, November 20. The court has now extended their custody, with the next hearing scheduled for December 3.

The case continues to be probed by a nine-member Special Investigation Team (SIT). The CID has summoned several individuals connected to Zubeen Garg, while the SIT is questioning others in relation to the investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.

The court noted that the extended remand is necessary to ensure that the accused remains under judicial supervision as the investigation proceeds.
