The 107-year-old YouTuber, Mastanamma, who gained overnight popularity for her recipes shared on YouTube, has passed away. Due to age-old illness, she breathed her last. Her close relatives cremated her in her village with full respects.
The Country Foods channel run by the 107-year-old Mastanamma is quite popular. Hailing from Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh, she is famous for non-veg recipes and the channel has about 1.2 million subscribers.
She used to work as a day labourer in the fields of her small village, as a chef in a hotel and at age 105. She lost four of her children to a cholera epidemic, but never gave up.
Mastanamma, thanks to her grandson, Laxman, a graphic designer who started off by sharing a video of her preparing a delectable brinjal curry for him and his friends. "It went viral. This was in August 2016," Laxman had told in an interview to THE WEEK.
