Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) suspected militants killed member of the BJP state executive committee, Sheikh Waseem Bari, his father Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, and brother Sheikh Umar on Wednesday evening at Bandipore in North Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Thursday.
They were killed at their family shop near to the Bandipore Police Station.
The Indian Express reported IGP, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, who arrived in the area on Thursday morning, said one of the attackers was a local militant while the other was a foreign one.
J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeted, "Sorry to hear about the murderous terror attack on the BJP functionaries and their father in Bandipore earlier this evening. I condemn the attack. My condolences to their families in this time of grief. Sadly the violent targeting of mainstream political workers continues unabated".
