Union Home Minister and National President ofBharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Amit Shah and party's working President JP Naddaon Saturday launched the 'Sewa Saptah' by meeting patients at All India Instituteof Medical Sciences (AIIMS), enquiring about their health, distributing fruitsto them and sweeping hospital floor.
Sewa Saptah- the programme spanning a week is beingobserved to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on September 17.
Speaking on the occasion, Amit Shah said, "Our workerswould begin celebrating Sewa Saptah from Saturday. Our Prime Minister hasdedicated his entire life for the service of the country."
Sewa Saptah is being observed in between September 14to 20 and through the entire week, innumerable social initiatives have beenplanned across the nation by the party including blood donation camps, eyecheck-up and medical camps. Several exhibitions will also be showcased thatwill depict the social work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These exhibitionswill be organized in every district by the BJP cadres to display the feat ofthe Central government under Modi's leadership.
On the 1st day of Sewa Saptah, a message tonot use plastic was also sent across as the distribution of these commoditieswas done in paper and jute bags.
