PrimeMinister Narendra Modi on Monday announced the release of Rs. 1000 croreadditional assistance for Cyclone Fani Odisha. The Prime Minister conducted anaerial survey of the affected areas along with Odisha governor Ganeshi Lal, CM NaveenPatnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Notably, the Centre had earlier released an advance assistance of Rs. 340 crore for Odisha, following the warning of 'extremely severe cyclonic storm' by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

Meanwhile, PM Modi also praised Odisha CM Patnaik for his effort of handling Cyclone Fani. "Naveen babu has done a good job," said the PM. He also applauded the people of Odisha for cooperating with the administration before the cyclone hit the State.
