Cyclone warning issued for south India and parts of Gujarat

The Mumbai division of the Indian Meteorological Department has issued warnings of cyclonic circulations over north and south Konkan and the bordering state Gujarat. The weather department has issued cyclone warnings of isolated heavy rain for Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Isolated heavy to very heavy rain warnings are issued for Konkan and Goa.

Over the next two days, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are expected to experience thunderstorms with gusty winds. Heavy rains are likely to hit Telangana by June 26 and Andhra Pradesh by June 27.

Only South Gujarat, Konkan and Goa may receive heavy rainfall and the intensity of the rain may decrease by the second day.

Earlier this month, Mumbai experienced torrential rains which disrupted the local train services.
