Dhoni likely to retire after World Cup

TeamIndia's last match in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is likely to beformer Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's last international game. As per aPTI report, Dhoni is unlikely to play for India after the World Cup.

"Younever know with MS Dhoni. But it is unlikely that he will continue to play forIndia after this World Cup. But since his decisions to quit captaincy from thethree formats have been taken so suddenly, it is very difficult to predict atthe moment," a senior BCCI official quoted as saying by PTI.

It maybe mentioned here that MSD has been facing criticism over his slow pace ofscoring runs in the World Cup. He has scored 223 runs in seven games. On TuesdayDhoni refused two singles in the final over and was out off the third deliveryas India lost momentum towards end of the innings.

However,every player who has appeared for media interactions has pointed out that Dhoni'son-field contribution is still immense.

Dhoniwill turn 38 on July 7. He has so far played 90 Tests, 348 ODIs and 98 T20Issince his debut in 2004. Dhoni also led India to 2011 World Cup glory and isone of the best captains in the world.
