IMD warns 5 states and 1 union territory of cyclone ‘Sagar’

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warns Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and the Lakshadweep of cyclone 'Sagar'.

Reportedly, the cyclone lay centered over the Gulf of Aden which is about 390 km east-northeast of Yemen's Aden city and 560 km west-northwest of Socotra Islands.

The Regional Meteorological Department (RMD) has informed that 'Sagar' might lead to rains and thunderstorm in different parts of Maharashtra on Friday.

RMD has also informed that Gale winds with a speed reaching upto 65-75 kmph gusting to 85 kmph is very likely in west-central and south-west Arabian sea in the next 24 hours which would gradually decrease thereafter.
