Internet services have been suspended on early Thursday; however, it is unknown as to when the blanket on internet services will be lifted.

On Wednesday evening, the environment in Kopar Khairane area was deemed hostile, following which the police used tear gas shells against protesters. The police also had to use baton-charge against them after some dissenters stoned vehicles and indulged in arson.

The protestors at the Kopar Khairane area had reportedly hurled stones at the vehicles of the locals, which led to a small band of local community members clashing with the protestors. In the fight, shops and offices were damaged and a police outpost and a hotel were set on fire.

The incident had taken place after the Maratha organisations who are seeking reservations in government jobs and education had called off the bandh.
