Interpol issues red corner notice against PNB Scam prime accused Nirav Modi

The Interpol on Monday issued a red corner notice against fugitive businessman Nirav Modi, in connection with the multi-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) Scam.

Along with Nirav Modi, the Interpol has also issued a red corner notice against Nirav's brother Neeshal Modi and one of his close aide Subhash Parab in the over Rs 13,000 crore scam.

The notice has been issued in CBI and Enforcement Directorate case related to cheating, corruption and money laundering.

The CBI had approached Interpol last month seeking issuance of red corner notice against Nirav Modi.

It may be mentioned here that a red corner notice empowers police or other security agencies of 190 member-countries to locate and arrest the person against whom it is issued.
