Chaired by Prime MinisterNarendra Modi, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the setting up of ISROTechnical Liaison Unit (ITLU) at Moscow in Russia.
Keeping in view the 15th August 2022 timeline for the Gaganyaan human space programme, ISRO will develop some of the key technologies in collaboration with Space agencies/industries in Russia, who have already demonstrated their technical capabilities in specific areas.

After the setting of the ITLU, ISRO will be able to collaborate with Space agencies in Russia and neighbouring countries for mutually synergetic outcomes. An average annual expenditure of about Rs. 1.5 crore will be incurred towards the new unit, a cabinet statement said.
Meanwhile, the Union Cabinet alsoapproved increasing the number of judges in the Supreme Court from the present31 to 34, including the Chief Justice of India.
