CBSE has  been asked  to issue advertisements in all leading dailies in the country stating that the court had ordered that  no schools in the country, could prescribe homework for classes one and two students, irrespective of the board to which they were affiliated.

In response to a plea by advocate M Purushothaman, Madras High Court Justice N Kirubakaran passed the order seeking direction to the CBSE to follow only syllabus and books prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training(NCERT).

On August 20 Madras High Court Justice N Kirubakaran  directed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to make his May 29 order banning homework for school goers in classes one and two widely known.

As per the CBSE bylaws schools affiliated to CBSE are required to satisfy the no school bags and homeworks  rule for class one and two students.
