Modi will also receive the "Order of Zayed", the highest civilian decoration conferred by the UAE government. It is a rare honour given to Kings and Head of States. The award will be presented today in a special ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi.

After Abu Dhabi, PM Modi will set foot in Bahrain and will hold talks with King Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He is also scheduled to see the formal beginning of the re-development of the temple of Shreenathji, which is the oldest in the Gulf region. On Sunday, Modi will return to France to attend the G7 Summit meetings.

In a first visit for an Indian Prime Minister to visit Bahrain, Modi's visit is quite significant. Later, he would also meet and interact with the Indian diaspora during his visit.
