Alleging Prime Minister Narendra Modi of suppressing details on his assets in the election affidavits, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Supreme Court on Monday.
A former journalist, Saket Gokhale filed the PIL in the SC and alleged that Prime Minister Modi was the beneficiary of a 'questionable' land allotment policy followed by the Gujarat Government since 1998. Under the policy, public lands were allotted to law makers at throwaway prices.

Challenging the affidavits furnished by the PM, the PIL seeks an investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by a retired CJI. The PIL also stated that the PM violated the rights of the citizens to know have information about the candidate under Article 19(1) (a) of the Indian Constitution.
